  SFVET PROGRAM  

The South Florida Veterinary Foundation’s Program (SFVET) was created to help families with low incomes to get a facilities to spay and neuter your pets at LOW COST.

 

Our mission is to increase the access of quality veterinary care, promote responsible pet ownership, and increase awareness of the importance of the human-animal bond in our community. The SFVET is comprised of veterinarians in South Florida who generously donate their time and energy to increase awareness and promote education about animal care in our community. The SFVET program is a charitable organization that is funded thru donations and funds allocated via grants.

 

Spay and Neuter Foundation of South Florida is proudly member and part of SFVET program. Spay-neuter program through the Miami-Dade Mayor, the County Commission, and Miami-Dade Animal Services. What pet owners are eligible?

 

Low income owners who can prove they receive benefits from one of the following:

 

1. Food Stamps Letter

2. Medicaid (NO Medicare)

3. Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

4. Temporary Assistance for Needed Families (TANF)

5. Jackson Memorial Hospital membreship

 

In each case, the eligible owner must provide a copy of the ACTUAL LETTER stating that they are entitled to the above benefits, and show that the dates still apply and are current. No “smart cards” (plastic credit card style) will be acceptable as valid proof. Samples of the various acceptable letters are available from Miami Dade Animal Services and we will post them on the website. You may print these   letter on the websites of each institution mentioned above.

 

Are animal rescues eligible?

 

YES, The animal must be under the care of a rescue organization who is a registered partner of Miami 

Dade Animal Services. The Foundation will provide a current list of the partners. Each rescue organization is entitled up to 25 animals a year under this program. The owner information will be the rescue organization information but must be signed by a member of that organizations Executive Board of Directors as owner. This is a HARD limit and each rescue organization must monitor their usage. You may want to pre-register these surgeries with the 

foundation so overlapping veterinarians do not exceed this limit even though the rescue 

organization is ultimately responsible for monitoring

 

What is the Co-payment?

 

Elegible clients and animal recues need to pay a co- payment for surgeries (Spay and Neuter) and rabies vaccine.

 

The Co-payments are:

 

Spay and Neuter for cats:                  $10

Spay and Neuter for dogs:                 $20

Stray cats:                                          FREE

Rabies vaccine (dog and cats):          FREE  

IMPORTANT:

 

** Rabies tag is NOT included.

** If Pyometra was diagnosed before the surgery or the animal has clinical sings, will NOT apply the surgery through this program. 

** Antibiotic and pain killer medicines are NOT included.

Que dueños son elegibles?

 

Propietarios de ingresos bajos que puedan demostrar que reciben beneficios de uno de los siguientes:

 

1. Estampillas de Comida (Carta)

2. Medicaid (NO Medicare)

3. Seguridad de Ingreso Suplementario (SSI)

4. Asistencia Temporal para Familias Necesarios (TANF)

5. Membresia del Jackson Memorial Hospital 

 

En cada caso, el dueño elegible debe proporcionar una copia de la CARTA real que indica que tienen derecho al menos uno de los beneficios antes mencionados donde se muestre la fechas que estan activos sus beneficios. NO son aceptadas las trejetas como prueba válida. Las diversas cartas aceptables están publicadas y disponibles en en la pagina web del Miami Dade Animale Services. Usted podra imprimir estas cartas en las paginas web de cada institucion antes mencionada. 

 

Los rescates de animales son elegibles?

 

SI, El animal debe estar bajo el cuidado de una organización de rescate como un socio certificado de Miami Dade Animal Service. La Fundación proporcionará una lista actualizada de los todos los veterinarios participantes en el programa. Cada organización de rescate tiene derecho hasta 25 animales al año bajo este programa. En este caso el propietario será la organización de rescate de los animales, los documentos deben ser firmado por un miembro de esa Junta Directiva de la institucion. El límite permitidos para cada organizacion de rescate debera controlado por sus directivos. Podran preinscribirse para estas cirugías con la fundación en cualquier momento.  La institucion sera la unica responsable de la vigilancia de sus casos.

 

Cuál es el co-pago?

 

Clientes Elegibles y los rescates de animales tienen que pagaran un copago por la cirugía (Esterilizacion) y la vacuna contra la rabia.

 

Los copagos son:

 

Esterilizacion de gatos:                              $10

Esterilizacion de perros:                             $20

Gatos callejeros:                                        GRATIS

Vacuna contra la rabia (perros y gatos):    GRATIS

 

IMPORTANTE:

 

** La chapa de la Rabia NO está incluida.

** Si la Piometra se diagnostico antes de la cirujia o la mascota tiene sintomas clínicos propios de la enfermedad. NO aplicará la cirugía para ser realizada a traves de este programa.

** Antibioticos y medicamentos para el dolor NO estan incluidos.
